Opportunities

Throughout the scheme students are given plenty of free additional opportunities to compete to win tickets to attend.

 

There are theatre tickets offered for students to attend press nights and they are able to watch performances and then write up about them.

 

A host of events are also accessible to our Young Reporters. All of these can be applied for throughout the eight months. Over the years we have sent students to Up at the O2, Immersive Gamebox, Monopoly Lifesize, The London Dungeon, The Roman Baths, The Brighton Zip, Wookey Hole Caves, Backyard Cinema, HMS Belfast, The Slide at The Arcelormittal Orbit and many more.

There have also been interviews set up for them with MPs, celebrities and local businesses to give them experience of what it's like to interview someone in the public eye.

 

Students love these opportunities, as they get to experience what it is like to be a real journalist at a press event.
