Position: Sales Executive

 

Salary: £12.50 an hour basic, with excellent commission structure 

 

Contract type: 3 month FTC from September 2021 (with the possibility to be extended on a salaried basis)

 

Hours per week: Minimum 8 hours a week (flexible times to suit you)

Start date: 13th September 2021

Who we are:

 

We are a company committed to allowing young people to have a voice, by offering work experience in the media.

 

The scheme offers students the opportunity to write one article per month for an eight month period, from September through to April. They are given the freedom to write about topics which interest them and are encouraged to go out and find stories in their local community.

 

Future goals:

 

Currently, we reach about 70 schools in the South East, but our aim is to ultimately take the scheme nationally. However, for this coming September (2021) we want to expand to reach every school in this area, but currently do not have the manpower to do this.

Job Role:

 

The Sales Executive will be responsible for getting new schools on board with us. The key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Generating new business via cold calling.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.

  • Report to line management about any new ideas.

  • Maintain accurate documentation on all clients and prospects.

  • Researching ways to advertise the company in a cost-effective way.

  • Occasional help with social media marketing; creating content, brainstorming ideas, developing campaign ideas to promote the business.

 

Person specification

 

Essential:

 

  • Proven track record of achieving income targets.

  • Experience of building relationships with clients or corporates.

  • Excellent written skills, with the ability to write and speak persuasively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.

  • Good numeracy skills.

  • The ability to work independently.

  • A commitment to the values of Young Reporter.

  • Attention to detail.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Ideally educated to degree level. Degree subject is not important, as long as the candidate can prove they are willing to hit the ground running and have an interest in sales.
